Carol Steed, Leadership and Management Director, University of Nottingham
Carol brings to this session some of the latest thinking, research and practical experiences around the topics of complexity, leadership and the higher education sector. As these topics form the basis of her current Doctoral studies, Carol brings insights from lived experiences in the sector pre- and during the Covid-19 pandemic, reflecting on the shifts that have started to emerge. Having worked in the higher education sector for over 22 years in a range of academic and professional service roles, Carol also brings a breadth of knowledge about the organisational and individual dilemmas that universities and university leaders face.
Carol has led national and international organisational and cultural change programmes across the sector; has been Dean of a faculty specialising in work-based learning; and has more recently launched an academy specialising in supporting leaders and managers to be effective in these turbulent and complex times.
