We are delighted to share this short video featuring Juliet Flynn, recipient of the Women-Space Leadership Award (Bronze) 2024. In this inspiring reflection, Juliet speaks with honesty and grace about what it means to be a woman in leadership today — the challenges, the growth, and the power of community.
Juliet describes receiving the award as a deeply humbling, motivating, and validating experience. For her, it wasn’t simply about recognition, but about the realisation that others had taken the time to articulate the impact she has made — on colleagues, teams, and the wider community. That acknowledgement, she says, “made an enormous difference — both to me and to the difference I make to others.”
Since receiving the award, Juliet has stepped into a senior leadership role, and she credits the recognition with giving her a meaningful boost in confidence at a crucial moment. “I don’t feel confident every day,” she admits, “but when I look back, I remind myself — I can do this. I can make a difference. I remember the award.”
Her message to others is simple but powerful:
“If you’re thinking about nominating someone, definitely do it. We need to hold each other up — we have a responsibility to support and enable other women.”
Juliet’s story is a beautiful reminder that leadership isn’t about titles alone — it’s about influence, encouragement, and the courage to lift others as we rise.
