New resources funded by the Office for Students and developed in partnership with the University of Derby, King’s College London, Aston University, Student Minds and Advance HE.
A toolkit for educators in HE to enhance students’ mental health and wellbeing has been published.
Education for Mental Health: Enhancing Student Mental Health through Curriculum and Pedagogy has been developed in partnership with the University of Derby, King’s College London, Aston University and Student Minds. Funded by the Office for Students via a Challenge Competition, the resource provides research and evidence informed guidance on the ways in which curriculum can support both wellbeing and learning.
The collaboration has co-created a comprehensive toolkit with case studies that makes embedding student mental health in the curriculum accessible to individuals, staff groups and whole institutions.
Professor Sally Bradley, Senior Adviser (Professional Learning and Development) at Advance HE said, “This resource is about optimising wellbeing to enable students to flourish. With tried-and-tested staff development activities and tips which demonstrate how curriculum design can support both wellbeing and learning, it benefits all of us involved in curriculum design, delivery and assessment to ensure student wellbeing is embedded in education.”
