The next AWLSIG Workshop – Ignite your Leadership Prowess: Strategies for Success for Female Professionals in Higher Education – will take place on Thursday 12th September 2024 1.00PM – 2.30PM.
The aim of the workshop is to empower female professionals in higher education by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to navigate and overcome gender biases, enhance their leadership capabilities, build effective networks and achieve a sustainable work-life balance and advance their careers.
By attending this webinar, participants will:
- Recognize and overcome gender bias: We will address the unique challenges faced by women in higher education and strategies to overcome them.
- Explore different leadership styles and identify which ones resonate most with each participant.
- Understand the importance of building a strong professional network and finding or becoming a mentor.
- Develop strategies for maintaining a healthy work-life balance in demanding roles.
- Learn tactics for career progression, including confidently articulating your worth in higher education, especially in the context of ensuring equity with male counterparts.
Our guest speaker is Mutiat Adebowale.
During the presentation, we will have breakout sessions, giving attendees the chance to discuss the topics in small groups. These discussions will then be shared in the main session to further enhance learning.
