Introducing Women-Space: A sneak peek at our upcoming new Award

  • News

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Women-Space Leadership Award, a new recognition of merit that celebrates the remarkable achievements of women’s leadership across Staff Development and Faculties within the Higher Education sector. The award is a collaboration between Women-Space and the Staff Development Forum, and it aims to highlight the significant leadership contributions of women across different grades with the ultimate purpose of promoting gender equality in professional and academic positions.

The award recognises colleagues who play a role at different stages of their careers, including management and leadership positions, and who demonstrate innovation, impact, integrity, and the ability to inspire others. The award also serves as a beacon of inspiration, providing relatable role models and encouraging women to develop their leadership within their roles and if they desire to aspire to leadership roles and excel in them.

The award will be launched with the soon to be announced programme of the SDF Festival of Learning and Development, sponsored by Advance HE, our founding and strategic partner. The SDF Festival is a national platform that garners substantial attention and provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase the award to the Staff Development audience. The winners will be announced during the keynote on day 2 and presented by regional hosts on day 3 of the SDF festival.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the Women-Space Leadership Award and to nominate yourself or a colleague who meets the eligibility requirements and exemplifies leadership excellence. Soon you will be able to find more information about the award criteria, the nomination process, and the selection methodology on the SDF website and the Women-Space channels.

Spread the word and don’t miss this opportunity to acknowledge and reward the outstanding leadership of women in Higher Education and to raise awareness of women’s own strengths and capabilities. We look forward to receiving your nominations and to seeing you at the SDF Festival of Learning and Development.
