Katharine Rogers

Katharine has been Director of Faculty Operations in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle University since 2012.  She is responsible for circ. 750 strong professional and technical team providing services to support education and research and works as part of the Faculty’s senior leadership team to support strategy development and operational delivery.

Before becoming Director of Faculty Operations, Katharine managed a number of smaller units within the Faculty, overseeing operations and supporting the implementation of change, bringing people and practises together under consistent operating models.

In 2019 Katharine led a large transformational change project to reorganise the Faculty’s professional services to align to a new academic structure and strategy, moving away from academic unit teams into functional communities where professional and technical colleagues now provide support across multiple academic and service units.

Prior to working in higher education Katharine worked in the business sector managing large teams to deliver customer focussed solutions to international organisations, responsible for significant revenues and business targets and managing multi-stakeholder projects.

Katharine has a degree in English and History, holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Project Management for Industry and a Chartered Management Institute Diploma in Management Level 7.
