Chris Lever Bio

Chris is a founding Director of Teleios and is an experienced Leadership and Organisational Development Consultant.  He has specialised in developing leadership capability and capacity to enable successful change for over 28 years. He brings an academically robust approach, matched with a passion for practical application.  This comes from years working in business as both a Director and as business owner.  Previous roles include Senior Business Development Manager at Touche Ross, senior European Portfolio Manager with Digital Equipment Company, and a commercial Captain of Passenger Ferries.

His pioneering work at Digital and later with Compaq and Hewlett Packard helped shift and establish the corporations as Solutions and Enterprise led Businesses.  This work in the IT sector has been used as case studies in various books.  With other colleagues and friends he has been one of the architects for creating High Performance Teams and Organisations as well as leading the original approach to empowerment.

Chris works internationally with clients from the Environmental Technology, Legal, IT, Pharmaceutical, Engineering, and Retail sectors.  He also works with a range of Central Government Departments and Local Government Councils, where his work with Services and teams… of various sorts, has won critical acclaim.

He is a former Senior Visiting Lecturer and Programme Director at Cranfield Business School and a Client Director at Bristol Business School.  He is currently working with Henley Business School in the Department of Leadership and Entrepreneurship where his work is helping to shape the content of a newly launched MSc.

The majority of his work these days is in either trying to recover change programmes that have run into difficulties or helping to steer other transformation initiatives through today’s uncharted waters and often-perilous seas before they hit the rocks.  His focus is on helping leaders and their teams navigate the challenges associated with shifts to Digital and Automation, responses to Climate Change and of course finding a way in a Pandemic altered world.

To this end he regularly publishes on social media.

His first book was published at the beginning of 2019 with title of ‘Navigating Change. A Leaders Guide’.   It has been described as ‘an uncompromising work filled with hope’.  His second book, is called  ‘Ensuring Change Delivers Success.  An end to end view of the process’.  It will be published in October 2020.  This offers a systemic and organic architecture for change and identifies 6 predisposing factors that will strongly influence how successful a change programme will be.

His passion for those on the margins of our communities translates into helping various “not for profit” organisations in the UK and overseas.

His customers describe him as “down to earth”, “challenging but with a gentle approach… most of the time!”
